Best Skinny Margarita Recipe for Quarantine

When quarantine started, I decided to run to the liquor store since apparently all the wine we have was not enough. I wanted to make a skinny margarita recipe I found on Pinterest (follow mine!), had never actually bought tequila before unless I was at a bar so I took a guess and grabbed Espolรฒn. Thankfully it did not disappoint.

I ended up creating the absolute best skinny margarita recipe ever. I combined a few different recipes I found so I figured I would type up the complete thing for you. The only reason I use the word โ€œskinnyโ€ is because it doesnโ€™t use the typical margarita mix that has tons of sugar. The below skinny margarita recipe is for one singular drink but you can obviously double, triple, heck quadruple if you are making more. Please excuse these awful iPhone photos but I didnโ€™t realize people would end up asking for the recipe. haha

Best Skinny Margarita Recipe for Quarantine

Ingredients:

  • tequila (apparently I prefer Espolรฒn)

  • flavored sparkling water - I used lime flavored clear splash brand and also got blood orange to try again soon. In general, like sparkling water over seltzer because of flavor but to each their own. Use what you like.

  • a quarter of a lime juiced

  • a quarter of a lemon juiced

  • a quarter of an orange juiced

  • sea salt

  • Trader Joeโ€™s Chili Lime seasoning - not necessary

  • ice cubes

Instructions:

Combined sea salt and chili lime seasoning on a small dish. Cut your lime, lemon, and orange into quarters. Use your piece of lime to wet the rim of your favorite cocktail glass and then dip into your seasoning. Add a few ice cubes to your glass and pour in 1.5 ounces of your chosen tequila. I used a shot glass and a half for measuring purposes. Fill your glass with flavored sparkling water about 3/4 of the way full, leaving room for your fresh fruit juices. Squeeze a quarter of your lime, a quarter of your lemon, and a quarter of your orange into the drink. I finished mine off with a pinch of the chili seasoning on top for extra spice and cuteness.

Since we are in quarantine, I suggest enjoying this skinny margarita recipe via facetime or zoom with your besties! That is what we did and it definitely made things a bit sweeter.

Fair Seas Supply Co.

In August I had reached out to Fair Seas Supply Co. in regards to a photoshoot to expand my product photography. Tiffany, the owner of the company, insists on using eco-friendly materials for their products and packaging and they work with factories who provide good working conditions and fair wages. I love that Fair Seas and Tiffany loves the ocean as much as I do. The company uses organic cotton because it is grown pesticide and insecticide free and with less water than traditional cotton. The Fair Seas Supply Co. website explains that the organic cotton is sourced from the Aegean region in Turkey, which I have been and it is STUNNING. The site also says that cotton from this area has extra long fibers, making it much more durable and long-lasting, another amazing aspect.

I love the way the photos came out and wanted to share some with all of you.

Full Moon Ceremony with Kozmic Ryder

A few weeks ago I attended my first (definitely not my last) full moon ceremony.  I honestly had no idea what to expect.  My fabulous friend Rach invited me along and I have been trying to break out of my comfort zone and be more inspired lately so I said yes!  Something we should all do more of.

When I arrived, I was greeted by so many fabulous women.  I could tell it was going to be GOOD.  There was a circle of pillows and blankets that filled the space and in the center stood a large and beautiful crystal with all types of meditation tools and candles. We all opened our hearts and spoke our truth. The night included a sacred tea ceremony, a transmission on the astrology of the night, sound healing (my favorite part!), and a community ceremony. We did all promise not to speak of what was mentioned in our ceremony so I will leave it at that. I know it must be confusing that I suggest you all attend a full moon circle and then I donโ€™t tell you what goes on but trust me. There is a lot of mediating, growing, and releasing of things holding us back. You will honor yourself and the work you have done lately and celebrate the connections in your life.

Ani of Kozmic Ryder hosted ours and she was incredible. I highly suggest following along with her blogs and Instagram if you are looking for some inspiration. Ani made each and every one of us feel welcomed and included.

If you want to attend the next one, let me know! I will definitely bring anyone that wants to join.
