nantucket, massachusetts

A charming island 30 miles out to sea.

There is not a single traffic light in sight but an endless amount of vintage vehicles.  Nantucket has a magical atmosphere and you can feel it the second you get off the ferry.  Most popular between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Nantucket is still charming in the slower months.  I took a trip a few weeks prior to Memorial Day and while there was definitely less going on, I still fell in love.

Instagram worthy places to spend your time while on island.

Brant Point, Sankaty and Great Point Lighthouses

All three lighthouses on the island are beautiful.  Brant Point holds a special place in my heart since T proposed in front of the replica of it.  It is also the first thing you see when you round the corner on the ferry.  Sankaty is also a favorite of mine.  Great Point is beautiful as well but a much farther trek.

'Sconset Bluff Walk

The ‘Sconset Bluff Walk is a public walking path (I promise, I was nervous too. haha) that cannot be missed.  Think cedar shingles, pink climbing roses, white picket fences, and hydrangeas as big as your head.  To begin, turn right after 21 Front Street and then make a quick left.

Steps Beach

The island is covered in amazing beaches but if you want that iconic picture of winding beach paths that lead to the water, Steps Beach is where to go.  A beach that is about 4 miles from town and between Dionis and Jetties beach.

Bike Paths and Rentals

There are a few bike rental shops on the island that you can rent a bike or a vespa (so fun!) at.  There are plenty of bike paths that can take you all over the island.  From a loop around 'Sconset and all the way back around Madaket, your legs will definitely get a workout.  Don't fear though, there are plenty of spots to stop and snap a photo or 10.

Cisco Brewers

I am not a beer drinker and I will tell you that there is something here for everyone. Cisco has a brewery, distillery, and winery with three separate bars for each.  You can find several food trucks and live music being played on any given day.  Also, did I mention it is dog friendly? *insert hearteyes*

Juice Bar

No matter how long the line, and trust me it can get long, Juice Bar ice cream is worth it and their smoothies are out of this world as well.  You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu.  I promise you will be dreaming of their homemade waffle cones after just one sniff.

Endeavor Sailing

This is a bonus and I am basing it off of a favorite blogger of mine (got to meet her once and will never forget how real and funny she is).  Mackenzie from Design Darling is always going on sailboat rides with Endeavor Sailing so I could not leave that off the list.

Getting there is hard but being there is always worth it.
